Enrollment & Registration

All participants need to be enrolled prior to the tournament. A digital enrollment form will be placed on this website soon. Participants fro previous tournaments will also be notified by email.

Players will be divided by the following age groups:
Group A ages upto 20 - (born in 1993 or later)
Group B ages upto 16 - (born in 1997 or later)
Group C ages upto 14 - (born in 1999 or later)
Group D ages upto 12 - (born in 2001 or later)
Group EF ages upto 10 - (born in 2003 or later)
Group GH ages upto 8 - (born in 2005 or later)

The birthyear of a participant is leading for the catergory selection. For example, players who are 16 years old but are born in 1996 will play in Group A. Furthermore it is possible for players to play in a higher group if desired.

Please note that the EF and GH participants will play in one group but for both groups a separate set of prizes exists.

The registration for all groups will be on monday August 5th from 11:30 until 13:00 in Sportcentrum 't Wooldrik. Please arrive on time so that the tournament can start timely.

Tournament Schedule and Time Control

The pairing in all groups will be done using the Swiss system. The D and EF&GH will play 13 rounds while the A, B and C groups play 9 rounds. The daily schedule will be listed here shortly.

All matches are played with a 'Fischer' time control where time is added with each move. As follows:

• The A, B and C groups play with 1:30 per person per match with 30 seconds added on each move.
• The D and EF&GH groups play with 40 minutesper person per match with 30 seconds added on each move.

Entry Fee

The entry fee for the ONJK 2013 is  €50,00  per particpant.

Titleholders (GM, WGM, IM, WIM, FM) who wnat to enter in the A-group are not required to pay the entry fee.

Rating Administration

The results of the A group will be sent to the FIDE. Besides that, all the results are sent to the Dutch Chess Federations (KNSB) for accounting each participants individual rating.

If you want your results sent to any other foreign chess federation please notify the referee and it will be taken care of
